01What INDEX is
INDEX runs index funds for the coins launched on stonkfun. You pay in SOL, you get shares of a fund, and a desk holds the real coins behind those shares. Nothing to pick, nothing to rebalance yourself.
The ranking comes straight from stonkfun's own public pool list, sorted by market cap. It is read every 30 seconds.
02STONK10
The ten largest stonkfun coins by market cap. Each gets 10%. Once a day, at 00:00 UTC, the desk re-reads the top ten: coins that dropped out are sold, coins that came in are bought.
03STONK30
The thirty largest, weighted by market cap. No coin can be more than 10%; anything above is spread over the rest in proportion. Same daily rotation as STONK10.
04BASKET
Pick 2 to 10 coins from the top 60 and give each at least 5%. The weights are yours and never change. The desk keeps the basket at those weights, and if a coin later falls out of the top 60 the basket keeps holding it. Anyone can invest in any basket. A wallet can create up to 5.
05Investing
Choose an amount in SOL and sign one transfer in Phantom. Once the payment is confirmed on-chain you get shares at the current NAV, minus a 1% fee. Your SOL enters the fund as cash, and within about a minute the desk spends it on the coins, most underweight first.
Mode right now: SIM. In SIM nothing touches the chain: investing is free, fills are calculated at live stonkfun prices minus each coin's transfer tax and 0.5% slippage, and every record is marked SIM.
06The daily rotation
Once a day, at 00:00 UTC, every fund is checked against its target weights. Rotating once a day instead of every hour means far fewer trades, so the fund pays less in swap fees and transfer tax. New money is still put to work within a minute. A coin only gets trimmed when it sits more than 25% above its target, so the fund does not pay transfer tax on small moves. Coins that left an index are always sold in full. New cash is always put to work.
Every trade shows up on the desk tape with its on-chain signature.
07Redeeming
Redeem any number of your shares. The desk takes your exact slice of every coin and of the fund's cash, sells the coins on Jupiter and sends you the SOL. If a coin has no route at that moment, you get the coin itself instead of SOL for that part.
08NAV and the index level
NAV is what one share is worth: coins held times live price, plus cash, divided by shares. A fund with no money in it starts at $1.00.
The index level starts at 1000 and follows the target weights using live prices, whether or not anyone has invested. It is the line on each fund's chart, recorded every 5 minutes. It ignores fees and taxes, so NAV will trail it slightly.
09Costs
- 1% on every investment.
- Most stonkfun coins are reward launches with a 1% or 3% transfer tax on every buy and sell. The fund pays it when it buys and when it sells, and it shows in the NAV. The tax column in each fund shows it per coin.
- Swap slippage and Solana network fees.
- No fee on redeeming.
10Risks
- These are memecoins. They can go to zero, and many do.
- Thin pools move when the desk trades them. Large redemptions can get worse prices than the NAV shows.
- The desk is a hot wallet run by INDEX. Your shares are an entry in INDEX's ledger, not a token in your wallet.
- If stonkfun's pool list is unreachable, the ranking and rotation pause until it is back.
